New York: UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres called on Israel, as an "occupying power," to agree to allow the entry and facilitation of necessary aid to the Gaza Strip. In a critical appeal, Guterres highlighted the escalating risk of famine faced by Gaza residents, emphasizing global attention on the crisis.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Guterres stated, "The people of Gaza are at risk of famine, and the world is watching," pointing out that Israel has permitted only 50 out of 400 aid trucks waiting to enter the Strip. He underscored that the authorized aid is insufficient and a substantial influx of supplies is urgently needed.

Guterres further explained that Israel is obstructing the direct distribution of flour and food to families in Gaza. Currently, the only available option is collaboration with a limited number of bakeries for bread production and distribution. He warned that this continued restriction exacerbates the plight of Palestinians, particularly impacting children, the elderly, and the sick.

The UN Secretary-General called for the immediate resumption of direct aid distribution to address urgent needs and avert a humanitarian crisis. Guterres stressed the necessity of swift action to prevent further deterioration of the situation in Gaza.
