Erbil: Kurdistan Regional Government Spokesman Peshwa Hawrami confirmed that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s visit to Erbil is “very important to discuss and resolve issues between the two sides.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hawrami told the Kurdistan 24 news website that previous meetings between the involved parties had yielded good results. He emphasized that dialogue remains the only way to resolve ongoing problems. The spokesman highlighted the Kurdistan Region’s desire to play a role in the security, political, and economic changes in the region and to achieve stability in Iraq.

Hawrami also underscored the need for the federal government to grant constitutional rights to the Kurdistan Region and stressed that the constitution should be the basis for resolving disputes. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s arrival in Erbil was marked by a reception from the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani. During his visit, al-Sudani also met with the Head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, in the Salah al-Din resort.
