Kuwait city: The family of the late Kuwaiti artist Hayat Al-Fahad has publicly refuted claims about the existence of a will allegedly designating part of her estate to create a charitable foundation. They have warned against any attempts to solicit donations in her name through various means, including cryptocurrencies or digital platforms.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the family issued a statement through Khaled Abdullah Al-Rashed, the former legal representative of Hayat Al-Fahad and the current legal representative of her daughter, Suzan. The statement addressed the widespread circulation of what it termed a “malicious rumor” across Kuwaiti, Gulf, and Arab news and entertainment websites.

The statement highlighted the distress and annoyance caused to Al-Fahad’s daughters and grandchildren due to numerous inquiries about how to donate to the alleged fund. It emphasized that excerpts from past interviews with Hayat Al-Fahad, where she spoke about values like mercy and kindness, were misrepresented as a recent will, which does not exist.

The family clarified that Hayat Al-Fahad left no such will and that her estate was distributed according to Islamic Sharia and Kuwaiti law. They urged respect for the family’s feelings and asked people to refrain from spreading false news that could cause harm or distress.

Furthermore, the statement warned against using Al-Fahad’s name or image for collecting funds or donations without prior written permission from Suzan’s legal representative. This restriction applies to artistic, cultural, or other events both in Kuwait and abroad.
