Baghdad: Head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, stressed yesterday the importance of broad participation in the elections.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Coalition stated in a statement that “Head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, chaired a meeting today, Friday, that included leaders of the political entities and forces within the coalition. He exchanged congratulations with the attendees on the occasion of Iraqi National Day, recalling the importance of working to strengthen state institutions, the rule of law, and remaining under the umbrella of the constitution, which protects freedoms, democracy, and the rights of all segments of our people.”
He added that “Al-Sudani followed up on the affairs of the candidates, the progress of their election campaigns, and efforts to publicize the coalition’s programs, communicate with citizens, and strengthen ties to serve the aspirations of our people for services, reform,
and the provision of their living requirements.”
Al-Sudani pointed to “the importance of continuing the momentum of work established by the Services Government, and relaunching the reconstruction approach and major strategic projects that have been a lever for the Iraqi economy.”
He also highlighted “the importance of broad participation in the elections, and the coalition’s reliance in future plans on the solid foundation achieved in the field of economic reform, meeting citizens’ aspirations for job opportunities, and the clear rates of poverty reduction through social protection programs, in addition to the service and urban renaissance that all parts of Iraq are experiencing.”
