Baghdad: Health Minister Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi engaged in a video conference with Omar Al-Rawas, Secretary-General of the Arab Board of Medical Specialties, to discuss the development of specialized training and increasing capacity for medical trainees. This discussion is aligned with the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance training programs for specialist physicians.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Moussawi emphasized the creation of a working group under his direct supervision to ensure an optimal training environment capable of accommodating a larger number of trainees. This will involve establishing new training centers and enhancing the skills of trainers and supervisors at existing centers. These steps aim to improve training quality and meet accreditation standards.

The Minister highlighted that this initiative is expected to increase the number of admission slots in specialized training programs by about 25% over the current capacity. This expansion will be coordinated with the accreditation committees of the General Secretariat of the Arab Board of Medical Specialties. Efforts are underway to fulfill all necessary requirements to achieve this goal in the coming months.

Al-Moussawi further explained that the Ministry is committed to developing and establishing as many training centers as possible to address the growing demand for specialist doctors in health institutions. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve the efficiency of health services offered to citizens.
