Health Minister Confirms Readiness to Provide Medical Services During Pilgrimage

Najaf: Health Minister Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi confirmed that the Ministry of Health has completed its preparations to receive millions of pilgrims during the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), in cooperation with the Najaf Health Department, other health departments, the holy shrines, the Ministries of Interior and Defense, the Iraqi Red Crescent, and the Popular Mobilization Forces. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the minister, in a televised interview, explained that the ministry held an extensive meeting with members of the central operations room to manage the flow of medical and ambulance services in an organized manner. He emphasized that dozens of ambulances are operating around the clock in the Old City of Najaf to provide medical and ambulance services. This includes medical detachments from the Najaf Health Department and supporting health departments, such as those in Rusafa and Diyala. The operations also involve Ministry of Health teams, public health te ams, volunteer teams, and health centers, working in coordination with the holy shrines, security and traffic authorities, government agencies, and civil society organizations. Dr. Al-Hasnawi noted the presence of over 35 health inspection teams to monitor all food services, restaurants, and hotels, confirming that no problems have been reported so far. He explained that the health plan was meticulously developed by the Ministry and the Najaf Health Department, with teams, medical units, and hospitals deployed along all routes and axes, particularly focusing on the Old City. This includes blood donation centers and facilities to serve visitors from Najaf and other governorates. The Minister emphasized the continued high level of coordination between all governmental and non-governmental entities to ensure the provision of the best possible health and treatment services to visitors, and to provide full support to all medical and emergency response teams during their duties.
