Baghdad: The Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerate procedures aimed at securing essential treatments for patients with hemophilia. This announcement was made following the ministry’s confirmation on Thursday that the much-needed medication, Factor VIII, is expected to arrive in the country within a matter of days.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ministry spokesperson Saif Al-Badr provided an update through a press release, stating that the treatments for hemophilia patients are currently in the phase of ministerial release procedures. He added that the shipment of Factor VIII is anticipated shortly, which will be crucial for the continued care of hemophilia patients.

Al-Badr further explained that the ministry currently has an inventory of approximately 10,000 doses of Factor IX. Additionally, Hemlibra is available in two concentrations, with around 5,000 doses of 150 mg and 10,000 doses of 30 mg, all of which are also in the process of ministerial release procedures.

He reiterated the ministry’s active coordination with relevant authorities and manufacturers to overcome obstacles and expedite the securing of treatments for patients as swiftly as possible.
