Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi extended his congratulations to the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate on the successful elections and the selection of Khalid Jassim as president, along with his two deputies and the members of the syndicate’s council.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Halbousi commended this achievement, wishing the new leadership of the journalistic community success in promoting responsible freedom of expression and elevating the profession in line with the media’s role in serving society and strengthening national awareness, and in contributing to the development of journalistic work and the consolidation of professional values befitting the history and standing of Iraqi journalism.
