Three Suspects Arrested for Threatening Citizens, Weapons and Drugs Seized in Basra


Basra: Basra police arrested three individuals accused of threatening citizens and seized weapons and drugs in Qibla district.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Governorate Police Command stated in a press release that police received information via tablet about a fight and threats involving weapons in Qibla district. A joint task force was immediately formed from Qibla Police Station, the Emergency Response Unit, and other units, and dispatched to the scene.



The statement continued, explaining that after gathering information and conducting an investigation, it was determined that three individuals had threatened a citizen with weapons while riding motorcycles. Following this, a raid was conducted on a house, resulting in the seizure of a Kalashnikov rifle. The force continued to pursue the suspects through the streets, leading to the arrest of the three individuals. A knife, approximately five grams of narcotics, and a pistol were found in their possession.



The statement concluded by noting that the necessary legal procedures were taken against the suspects, and they were referred to the appropriate authorities.
