Hilla: The Babil Criminal Court sentenced one of the defendants involved in the attempted assassination of activist Dirgham al-Khafaji to six years in prison. The incident occurred three months ago in the al-Hamza al-Gharbi district, located south of Hillah.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the court issued the sentence on Thursday. The convicted individual is one among several defendants implicated in the case, while three other suspects remain at large. The court has allowed the convicted defendant the right to appeal the sentence.
