Najaf: The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH) has announced the official closure of its program providing relief and hosting services to Lebanese families, concluding as the last group departed during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Salam al-Jubouri, head of the Relief Committee at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH), stated that the closure followed five months of service, initiated in response to directives from the Supreme Religious Authority. The program began with the arrival of the first displaced families on September 25, 2024, ultimately assisting 5,130 families, totaling 7,300 individuals.

Al-Jubouri detailed the support provided, noting that health and treatment services benefited over 1,500 individuals with chronic diseases. Additionally, medical supplies including wheelchairs and crutches were distributed to 200 cases. The shrine facilitated forty-five surgeries and medical treatment for thirteen chronic disease cases, while also covering the expenses for four recorded births during the hosting period.
