Vienna: Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said that Iran’s Fordow uranium enrichment facility and Natanz nuclear facility have not suffered any additional damage since the attack that occurred on Friday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement published on the Agency’s official Twitter account, Grossi indicated that the information available to the Agency confirms that no damage has been recorded at the Fordow uranium enrichment facility and the Hondab heavy water reactor, which is still under construction.

He explained that the Natanz nuclear facility has not suffered any additional damage since the Israeli attack on Friday.

On Saturday, Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, announced that “limited” damage had been caused to some areas of the uranium enrichment site at the Fordow facility, south of Tehran, as a result of the Israeli attack.

The Iranian Fars News Agency quoted Kamalvandi as saying that a large portion of the equipment and materials had been previously removed from the facility, and there was no widespread damage.

He indicated that there was no concern about radioactive contamination and confirmed that the damage to the Natanz nuclear complex was superficial and limited.

Since dawn on Friday, Israel launched a massive attack on Iran with dozens of fighter jets, dubbed “Rising Lion.” During the attack, Israel bombed nuclear facilities, missile bases in various areas, and residential buildings, and assassinated prominent military leaders and nuclear scientists.

For its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that Tehran launched “True Promise 3” in response to the Israeli strikes.
