BAGHDAD: The Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) has condemned the targeting of journalists’ residences in southern Lebanon by the Zionist entity. In a statement released on Friday, the Council expressed strong condemnation of what it described as a deliberate aggression in the Hasbaya area, which resulted in casualties among journalists performing their duties. The Board emphasized that this incident adds to a record of actions against journalists and media outlets in Palestine and Lebanon and constitutes a violation of international laws protecting journalists.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Board of Trustees has called on media organizations and trade unions worldwide to denounce the attack and adopt a firm stance against the Zionist entity in international forums. The statement highlighted the international community’s responsibility to hold the attackers accountable and ensure the safety of journalists operating in conflict zones. The Board urged an urgent international resp
onse to bring those responsible for such crimes to justice and to enhance protection measures for journalists.
The IMN Board of Trustees also expressed confidence that the incident would not deter dedicated media outlets from continuing their work. It stressed the importance of ongoing coverage of the situation, underscoring the resilience of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples and the efforts of resistance fighters in defending their territories.
