Integrity Commission Executes Arrest Warrants Against Al-Khader Municipality Officials

Baghdad: The Federal Integrity Commission announced the execution of arrest warrants against the former and previous directors of Al-Khidr Municipality and four municipal employees in Al-Muthanna Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission detailed that a team from the Al-Muthanna Investigation Office, supported by the Rapid Response Brigade, carried out the arrest warrants. These warrants targeted the former and previous directors of Al-Khidr Municipality along with four municipal employees. The arrests were linked to actions taken by Al-Khidr Municipality in 2018, particularly concerning the signing of lease agreements for 81 shops and the collection of rent. Additionally, there was a failure to address encroachments on property or coordinate with the property owner regarding these issues.

The Commission explained that the operation was conducted under Article 315 of the Penal Code. A formal report was presented, along with the accused, to the competent investigating judge to take necessary legal measures and decide their fate.
