Basra: The file concerning the investment in land belonging to a sports club in Basra has been referred to the Integrity Commission. The head of the Integrity Committee in the Basra Provincial Council, Baidaa Al-Nahi, announced that the file concerning the investment of the land belonging to Al-Deir Sports Club in Basra has been referred to the Integrity Investigation Court judge, due to irregularities related to the investment contract.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Nahi explained in a statement that the committee is investigating the allocation of the club's land to an investor and the conversion of part of it into 18 commercial shops in a commercial area. She clarified that the shops have been fully completed and leased, while the club's stadium remains unfinished.

Al-Nahi added that the initial contract with the investor stipulated an annual rent for all the shops at 17 million dinars, but the contract was later amended to reduce the annual rent to only 3 million dinars. She confirmed that the file has been referred to the Integrity Investigation Court judge to take legal action, and the Director of Youth and Sports in Basra has been summoned for questioning regarding the circumstances of the case.
