Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has engaged in a phone conversation with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on bilateral relations and ongoing regional developments, particularly the situation in Yemen.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi and Al Nahyan conveyed their satisfaction with the improving relations between Iran and the UAE, emphasizing the need to address issues of mutual interest. During the discussion, Araghchi highlighted the importance of regional cooperation to uphold Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while addressing the legitimate aspirations of its people.
The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed Iran’s stance that a Yemeni-led dialogue, prioritizing the country’s unity, is essential for resolving the Yemen crisis. In response, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan reiterated the UAE’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Yemen and detailed the nation’s efforts to de-escalate tensions.
