Iran Announces Martyrdom of Senior Commanders in Alleged Israeli-American Attack


Tehran: The Iranian government announced that several senior military commanders have been martyred in what has been described as a “brutal” attack, attributed to the United States and Israel.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the announcement, broadcast by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), revealed the loss of significant figures within the Iranian military hierarchy. Among those martyred are Major General Mohammad Shirazi, who served as the Commander of the Basij Forces and Head of the Office of the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces, and Major General Saleh Asadi, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).



The attack also claimed the lives of Major General Pilot Amir, Deputy Chief of Intelligence at the General Staff, and Mohsen Darbaghi, Deputy Chief of the Readiness and Support Department of the Armed Forces. Major General Akbar Ebrahimzadeh, who was the Deputy Chief of the Office of the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces, also perished in the attack.



Additionally, Major General Gholamreza Rezaeian, Head of the Intelligence Organization, and Major General Bahram Hosseini Motlaq, Head of the Planning and Operations Department and Deputy Chief of Operations at the General Staff, were among those martyred. The Head of the Readiness Department at the General Staff, Major General Hassan Ali Tajik, was also confirmed among the martyrs.



The Iranian statement emphasized the significant blow to the country’s military leadership and reiterated accusations against the United States and Israel for their involvement in the attack.
