Tehran: The Iranian Foreign Ministry has declared that the latest round of US sanctions represents “economic terrorism” and a crime against humanity. The ministry’s statement underscores Iran’s firm stance against the measures and its determination to safeguard national sovereignty.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Foreign Ministry’s statement warned that those responsible for imposing the sanctions would face consequences, asserting that these actions would not deter Iran’s resolve. The ministry described the economic pressure as an extension of war and aggression, cautioning against the breach of international law.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also highlighted the ineffectiveness of past sanctions and reiterated its commitment to resisting US pressure through all available means. This announcement follows US President Donald Trump’s declaration of a “crushing” economic campaign aimed at economically isolating Iran and penalizing countries that offer support to it.
