Tehran: Iran has vowed a “strong response” to the naval blockade imposed on it, emphasizing that the repercussions will extend beyond the Iranian economy. Iranian Interior Ministry spokesman Ali Zeinivand stated in a press release that the blockade will indeed impact Iran, but warned that the effects will not be confined to its economy alone, asserting that Tehran will not remain passive in the face of such measures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zeinivand further remarked that “the United States’ belief that it can achieve its goals by closing the sea to Iran for several months or a year is a mistaken belief.” He emphasized that Iran is prepared to take decisive action and respond accordingly to the blockade, indicating a readiness to confront the situation with a strong stance.
