Iranian Foreign Minister Stresses Importance of Egyptian Security Amid Regional Tensions

Cairo: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has emphasized that Egypt is a crucial partner for Iran and its security is a top priority for the Islamic Republic. Araqchi stated on Thursday, "Egypt is a friend and important partner in the region, and its security is of paramount importance to the Islamic Republic."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi expressed his concerns through his account on the X platform, where he addressed the need for vigilance against "Israeli schemes and 'false flag' operations" that could threaten regional peace. He highlighted the shared threat faced by Muslim nations and the importance of solidarity in the face of these challenges.

The statement from Araqchi follows an announcement by the Egyptian government, made earlier on Thursday, revealing that preliminary investigations into a fire at Damietta Port suggested a drone was the cause. Egyptian authorities are actively investigating the incident to ascertain the details and ensure measures are in place to protect the nation's interests and security.
