Tehran: The Iranian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is set to visit Tehran next Wednesday, following an official invitation from President Masoud Pezeshkian. The agenda for the visit includes discussions on bilateral relations, the implementation of existing agreements, and the recent developments in the region, including the situation in Syria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei addressed a press conference to clarify recent misinformation regarding Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Baqaei stated that claims circulating about Araghchi warning of the potential formation of an Islamic State in Syria are unfounded and simply rumors. He urged the public to refer to the Foreign Minister’s recent interview with Chinese television for accurate information, emphasizing the importance of respecting the Syrian people’s choices and reiterating Iran’s consistent stance on Syrian affairs.

Furthermore, Baqaei condemned the threats from the United States and Israel to attack Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, citing such actions as violations of the UN Charter and threats to international security. He asserted that Iran remains resolute in defending its sovereignty and territory, highlighting that these threats specifically contravene Resolution 533 of the Board of Governors and pose a risk to international peace and security.
