Iranian Foreign Ministry Vows to Use All Means to Defend National Security

Tehran: The Iranian Foreign Ministry affirmed on Saturday that Tehran will use all legitimate means to defend its rights, interests, and national security in the face of what it described as “aggression by the United States and the Zionist entity.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stated that the continued naval blockade, illegitimate threats, and attacks targeting civilian infrastructure constitute “an act of aggression and a clear violation of the UN Charter.” It criticized the silence of the UN Security Council and the inaction of the UN Secretary-General regarding these attacks, arguing that this contradicts the legal responsibilities incumbent upon both institutions.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized Tehran’s commitment to maintaining friendly relations with neighboring countries while simultaneously condemning the American aggression. It affirmed Iran’s continued defense of the country’s independence, national dignity, and sovereignty. The ministry clarified that Iranian defensive strikes targeting the source of the “illegitimate” American attacks do not, in any way, constitute an attack on the countries of the region.

Furthermore, the ministry called on countries in the region to uphold their legal, religious, and moral responsibilities and prevent the United States and the “Zionist entity” from using their territories and resources to launch attacks against Iran.
