Baghdad: The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters in Iran has issued a stark warning, stating that any attack by the United States on Iran's nuclear facilities or sensitive sites could lead to an escalation of conflict in the region. The headquarters emphasized that such actions would result in all American interests, along with those of its allies and supporters, becoming potential targets for Iranian armed forces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters released a statement declaring, "The United States of America is threatening to launch attacks on nuclear and sensitive sites in Islamic Iran." The statement further warned that if the US military engages in such actions, it would be perceived as an escalation of war, prompting Iran to target American interests and those of its allies.

In June, Iran and the United States, with Pakistan's mediation, announced a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict initiated by the US and Israel against Iran in late February. However, tensions rose again on July 8 when the US military conducted a series of strikes against Iran, which the US Central Command claimed were in retaliation for Iranian actions against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has accused the United States of breaching the ceasefire agreement and has launched retaliatory strikes against US bases and vital installations in the Gulf region, highlighting the fragile nature of the current ceasefire.
