Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Strikes US Fifth Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain

Manama: Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced a significant military action targeting the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet at Mina Salman Port in Bahrain. The attack took place today, marking a notable escalation in the region’s geopolitical tensions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Revolutionary Guard’s public relations office issued a press release detailing the operation. The statement confirmed that two waves of attacks were launched, involving missile and drone strikes aimed at the strategic US military location. The strikes reportedly targeted key facilities at the base, including the LIDS anti-drone system, maintenance and storage areas for remotely controlled unmanned boats known as Champads, a support equipment center, the base’s fuel tanks, and areas where US troops assemble.

The statement emphasized the precision of the attacks, mentioning the use of various types of suicide drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles to achieve their objectives. The Revolutionary Guard concluded the statement with a declaration that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed, underscoring the potential for further regional disruption.
