Audit and Control Department Partners with Federal Civil Service Council for Enhanced Government Performance

Baghdad: The Audit and Control Department has initiated coordination meetings with the Federal Civil Service Council to advance institutional performance. The sessions are aimed at establishing collaborative mechanisms between the entities to bolster government performance management.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Riyadh Fadhil Mohammed Al-Faily, the Director General of the Audit and Oversight Department and Head of the Institutional Performance Evaluation Team, highlighted the necessity of an integrated administrative system. This system is intended to empower government institutions to meet their objectives and fulfill the needs of citizens. Al-Faily also outlined the General Secretariat’s responsibility in managing the institutional performance of both ministerial and non-ministerial bodies, in alignment with Cabinet Resolution No. (114) of 2018.

The Federal Civil Service Council representatives underscored the significance of the complementary roles between the Council and the General Secretariat. This collaboration is essential for organizing public service initiatives, enhancing the efficiency of institutional performance, and developing qualified personnel to support government agendas.

The discussions during the meeting included evaluation mechanisms based on official standards and a review of public policies anchored on the amended Federal Civil Service Council Law No. (4) of 2009. The meeting’s agenda focused on public service planning, supervision, and oversight, as well as performance evaluation. Additionally, there was an emphasis on activating the private sector’s role in job regulation and strengthening the labor market, aiming to contribute to improved institutional performance.
