Baghdad: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Haider Abdul Dhahd, announced the final results of the 2026 National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary highlighted that the results showcased a strong level of scientific and technical competition, demonstrating the students’ abilities in utilizing robotics and artificial intelligence technologies. The championship provided innovative solutions to various challenges, indicating an increasing academic focus on modern technological fields.
The Undersecretary praised the ministerial team overseeing the championship along with the participating universities and scientific committees. He acknowledged the scientific and technical proficiency exhibited by the student teams, as well as the competitive spirit that characterized the event.
He emphasized that the championship serves as a national
platform for discovering and nurturing student talents in technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence. It aims to prepare a generation of skilled individuals who can adapt to rapid scientific and technological changes. The event also supports the transformation of student projects into incubated, developed, and marketable ventures through technology incubators.
The championship featured competitions across six tracks: agriculture, community service, medicine, industry, education, and the environment. Al-Nahrain University, Al-Noor University, the Southern Technical University, Al-Ain University, and the University of Technology excelled in the agricultural track. The Northern Technical University, the University of Information and Communications Technology, and the University of Technology placed third, fourth, and fifth in the community service track. The medical track was won by the Northern Technical University, the University of Babylon, the University of Mosul, Al-Naji University, and the Univer
sity of Nineveh.
For the education track, the Central Technical University, Al-Safwa University, Tikrit University, Al-Noor University, and Mosul University achieved top results. In the environmental track, the University of Mosul, the University of Babylon, the University of Technology, Al-Noor University, and Al-Safwa University emerged victorious. Lastly, the industrial track was won by the University of Technology, the University of Karbala, Al-Mustansiriya University, the University of Mosul, the Northern Technical University, and Al-Ain University.
