Baghdad: Iraq's Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Relations, Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom, engaged in discussions with the Chinese Ambassador in Baghdad, Cui Wei, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple fields.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement indicating that Bahr Al-Uloom hosted the Chinese ambassador at the ministry's headquarters. The discussions underscored Iraq's important role in China's 'Belt and Road' initiative and reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to advancing partnerships based on existing agreements and memoranda of understanding, benefiting both peoples.

The statement also mentioned the significance of the upcoming second Arab-China Summit. Consultations are ongoing to finalize a date that is agreeable to all parties, aiming to strengthen Arab-Chinese relations through the summit.

Bahr Al-Uloom urged the Chinese side to review its travel guidelines concerning Iraq, intending to encourage Chinese citizens and businesses to visit and explore opportunities for expanded cooperation. He highlighted Iraq's progress in stability, both in security and developmental sectors, which enhances the investment and economic climate.

The Chinese ambassador expressed appreciation for the longstanding relationship between Baghdad and Beijing. He affirmed China's dedication to enhancing cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations to support regional and global stability.
