Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his French counterpart, Jean-No«l Barrot, engaged in discussions on Wednesday regarding the potential organization of the fourth edition of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry released a statement indicating that Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a phone call from French Foreign Minister Jean-No«l Barrot. During this conversation, they addressed several regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly focusing on developments following the cessation of hostilities and the establishment of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, as well as the broader situation in the Middle East.

The statement further mentioned that the discussion also covered the outcomes of recent NATO summit meetings and their implications for the region’s security and stability. Additionally, both ministers explored avenues to bolster bilateral relations between Iraq and France across various sectors.

The dialogue also highlighted the possibility of convening the fourth Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, with an emphasis on France’s supportive role in advancing this significant regional initiative.
