Baghdad: Finance Minister Faleh al-Sari met with South Korean Ambassador to Iraq Lee Jae-myung to discuss the financing of the air defense system deal contracted between Iraq and South Korea. According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, al-Sari and the Korean ambassador delved into the financial procedures and requirements necessary for the air defense system deal. They focused on ensuring that the financing mechanisms align with established legal and financial procedures. Al-Sari emphasized Iraq’s dedication to securing its airspace and enhancing national security to protect its sovereignty from external threats.

The Korean side highlighted the importance of maintaining continuous coordination between both nations. They stressed the need to complete the procedures related to the defense deal and move forward with its implementation within the agreed-upon frameworks.
