Baghdad:The Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdul Amir Al-Shimmari, emphasized the significance of Sovereignty Day, describing it as a momentous event with deep national meaning. This day marks an enduring legacy for future generations, underscored by continued cooperation with the International Coalition to address threats.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Shimmari delivered a speech at an official ceremony in Baghdad attended by Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi. He highlighted the pride in the achievements attained through sacrifice, the blood of martyrs, and the dedication of those who served their country. September 30th is recognized for its profound national, political, and strategic importance.

The conclusion of the International Coalition’s mission to combat Daesh was acknowledged as a significant achievement against extremism and terrorism. Al-Shimmari noted the end of long years of collaboration with international partners, which enhanced the Iraqi armed forces’ experience and capabilities, effectively neutralizing the threat posed by Daesh.

Reflecting on the past challenges, Al-Shimmari praised the resilience and determination of the Iraqi people, which earned international respect. The establishment of the Joint Operations Command was pivotal in regaining command and organizational capabilities.
