Baghdad:The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation has announced that Iraq will host the 28th edition of the Gulf Cup in 2028 and the Gulf Olympic Teams Championship in 2027.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the decision was confirmed by Sarmad Abdulilah, First Deputy President of the Iraqi Football Association and member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. He stated that the Gulf Cup 28 will take place from December 9 to 22, 2028.

In addition, Iraq will host the Gulf Olympic Teams Championship from March 21 to April 3, 2027. Abdulilah mentioned that this tournament will be held in Basra Governorate, while the specific city and stadiums for the Gulf Cup 28 matches in Iraq are yet to be decided, pending coordination between the Iraqi government and the Iraqi Football Association.
