Iraq Claims Victory Again in Arab Memory and Mental Arithmetic Championship


Baghdad: Iraq has once again secured the title in the Arab Memory and Mental Arithmetic Championship. This marks the second consecutive victory for the nation in the competition, which was organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Chair in the Service of Childhood for its second phase. The championship was held under the supervision of the Iraqi National Committee, in collaboration with the International Creativity Development Center in Iraq.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Education announced Iraq’s triumph over 500 participants from 12 Arab countries. Sudan and Libya claimed the second and third places, respectively. The event highlighted the competitive spirit and intellectual prowess of young Arab minds.



Minister of Education Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, in his welcoming speech, emphasized the importance of such creative forums in discovering and nurturing scientific talents and mental abilities among Arab students. He stated that learning mental arithmetic enhances mental flexibility and critical thinking, enabling students to solve mathematical problems swiftly and effectively without the aid of calculators.
