Iraq Condemns Renewed Brutal Zionist Military Operations on Gaza Strip

Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the renewed Zionist military operations on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, describing them as brutal. It called on the international community to take urgent action to put an end to the grave violations and protect Palestinian civilians.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The Republic of Iraq expresses its strongest condemnation and denunciation of the renewed brutal military operations carried out by the Zionist entity against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of 404 Palestinians, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 562 others, according to the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.”

It added, “These aggressive acts constitute a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law and directly target innocent civilians, confirming the continued policy of repression and aggression pursued by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities and take urgent action to put an end to these grave violations and protect Palestinian civilians from the continuation of these attacks, which contravene the most basic principles of human rights.

In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Republic of Iraq’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people in their just struggle to achieve their freedom and legitimate rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state.
