Jeddah: The Iraqi diplomatic delegation actively took part in the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting was convened at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release indicating that Ambassador Mawloud Ahmed Musleh Al-Mashhadani, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the OIC, led the Iraqi delegation. He participated on behalf of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.

The session included the election of Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed as the new Secretary-General of the OIC, while also addressing various issues on the agenda. The Republic of Turkey, presiding over the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, chaired the session. Several foreign ministers from member states, along with heads and representatives of delegations from participating countries, were in attendance.
