Baghdad: The 17th Agricultural Week commenced at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds, with participation from 209 companies spanning 14 countries. The event is designed to bolster national production and encourage the adoption of advanced technologies in agriculture, irrigation, mechanization, and food processing.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Zainab Munir, Director of Public Relations for the 17th Agricultural Week, highlighted the event’s distinguishing features, including expanded participation and a diverse array of companies and technologies. The focus remains on modern agriculture, irrigation, addressing water scarcity, enhancing productivity, and supporting domestic products.

With increased participation this year, the exhibition pavilions host companies from varied markets and experiences. Zainab emphasized the inclusion of Iraqi, Arab, and international companies from 14 countries, demonstrating the exhibition’s broad scope and the Iraqi agricultural sector’s openness to global expertise and technologies.

Key themes of the exhibition include agricultural technologies and mechanization, with particular attention to water solutions and the development of farming and harvesting processes. Zainab detailed the presence of modern irrigation and water conservation technologies, agricultural and harvesting equipment, and systems aimed at increasing productivity and reducing production costs.

She noted the prominence of local participation alongside international companies, underscoring the visibility of Iraqi involvement. There is a concerted effort to showcase national products, technologies, and local solutions, which enhances their market access and broadens their application.
