New york: Iraq expressed its gratitude to the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) for its support over more than two decades. Iraq’s representative to the United Nations, Luqman Faily, stated during a Security Council session on Iraq: “The end of UNAMI’s mission in Iraq marks a new beginning for our partnership with the United Nations.” He added, “Iraq has fulfilled its international obligations, particularly with Kuwait.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faily emphasized that Iraq is committed to protecting the interests of its people and is experiencing political and security stability. He also highlighted Iraq’s efforts in managing the situation of its citizens in Al-Hol camp, addressing it responsibly and humanely. Faily warned that the ongoing deterioration in Al-Hol camp poses a threat to international security.
