Baghdad: The Ministry of Health announced today the signing of a memorandum of understanding with European companies to establish Iraq's first insulin production plant in Nineveh Governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Managing Director of Al-Zarqa Pharmaceutical Industries Company, Abdullah Mohammed, stated that a memorandum of understanding was signed with a German company and the Dutch company Byton, one of the four leading companies in the world in insulin production. The agreement includes the establishment of the plant within Iraq to enhance local insulin production capabilities.
He further detailed that the plant's location has been earmarked in Nineveh Governorate, with the land for construction already identified. The memorandum of understanding has been signed, and the parties are now moving forward with the contractual procedures necessary to commence the project.
