Najaf:Iraqi Airways has resumed flights between Najaf and Iranian airports, an initiative achieved through the direct efforts of Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the announcement came after the Iraqi Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Yasser Abdul-Zahra Al-Hajjaj, confirmed the reopening of Najaf Airport to Iranian flights.

Abdul-Zahra stated that the Iraqi government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi, has been actively working to resume flights between Iraq and Iran.

He further explained that the suspension of services was not due to a government decision but rather because foreign ground-handling companies had stopped providing services due to concerns over US sanctions.
