Iraqi-American Officials Prepare to Activate Strategic Framework Agreement


Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein engaged in discussions with Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, the Charg© d’Affairs of the US Embassy in Iraq, focusing on preparations for an upcoming meeting of the Iraqi-American Joint Committee aimed at activating the Strategic Framework Agreement.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Hussein shared details of the meeting on the (X) platform, emphasizing the importance of reviewing regional developments and maintaining coordinated efforts, particularly in addressing the threat posed by the terrorist organization ISIS. The discussions highlighted the need for continued collaboration between Iraq and the United States.



Hussein further elaborated on the talks, noting that the meeting is a preparatory step towards activating the Strategic Framework Agreement for Friendship and Cooperation, which seeks to enhance bilateral relations across various sectors. The forthcoming committee meeting is expected to reinforce the commitment of both nations to their longstanding partnership.
