Manama: Iraqi equestrian Humam Al-Alyan won the silver medal in Olympic show jumping at the Asian Youth Games currently being held in Bahrain.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Equestrian Federation revealed that Al-Alyan secured the second position in a field of 51 competitors. He finished just one second behind the Malaysian equestrian who took first place.

The statement further noted that this achievement marks Iraq’s first Asian equestrian medal since the Asian Games in Seoul in 1988.
