Iraqi Equestrian Team Shines in Moscow, Winning Four Medals in World Cup Qualifiers


Baghdad: The Iraqi national equestrian team concluded its participation in the World Cup qualifiers, held at the Russian Olympic Center in Moscow, with the participation of seven teams and more than 35 riders. A statement issued by the Iraqi Equestrian Federation and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Wednesday indicated that “our national team achieved outstanding results at the team level, winning the silver medal on the first day of competition, the bronze medal on the second day, and then the gold medal on the final day, ultimately securing the bronze medal and third place in the overall team standings.”



According to Iraqi News Agency, on an individual level, national team rider Osama Liwa shone remarkably, achieving the gold medal on the first day, the bronze on the second day, and the gold on the third day, before being crowned with the gold medal at the end of the tournament, after topping the list of the best riders and achieving the highest score of 125 points, clearly ahead of his closest competitors, adding a distinguished individual achievement to the series of results achieved by the national team in the qualifiers.
