Baghdad: During a meeting with the Iranian President's Advisor, the Director of the Women's Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Nada Al-Abadi, confirmed the ministry's efforts to develop the levels of Iraqi women.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Women's Affairs Department released a statement highlighting a meeting between Athmar Shaker Al-Shatri, Dean of the College of Education for Girls, and Ansia Khazali, the advisor to the former President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and President of Al-Zahra University (PBUH). The meeting was attended by Nada Al-Abadi, the former Iraqi Cultural Attach© in Iran, Zahida Ahmed Hamed, and Hala Al-Jaberi, the advisor at the Iranian Embassy and Director of the Family and Women Center.
The discussions focused on developing the academic reality for women and enhancing their opportunities for scientific empowerment. The meeting also explored the potential for scientific cooperation between the College of Education for Girls at the University of Baghdad and Iranian universities. Strategic plans and cultural and scientific programs to address challenges facing women in society were also on the agenda.
Al-Shatri expressed her college's readiness to establish understandings that would strengthen academic relations in female-serving scientific specializations. Al-Abadi emphasized the ministry's ongoing coordination with the National Department of Iraqi Women in implementing the Third National Plan for Women, Security, and Peace, as well as enhancing political, economic, and social empowerment.
The former advisor to the President of Iran pointed out the necessity for joint efforts to support academic women, protect them from violence, and enhance social and psychological support mechanisms.
