Baghdad: The Studies and Research Unit at the Iraqi House of Fashion, in collaboration with the Studies and Research Center at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, organized a dialogue seminar focused on “Representations of Iraqi Fashion in Contemporary Painting.” The event featured visual artist Haider Fakher, whose expertise in contemporary art and the incorporation of Iraqi dress in his works took center stage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the seminar delved into Haider Fakher’s artistic journey, exploring the intersection of classical and contemporary painting and examining the artistic distinctions between domestic and international exhibitions. The seminar included contributions from critic and visual artist Amira Naji, who provided a critical analysis of Fakher’s notable works.

The discussions also touched on the current status of Iraqi attire, strategies to maintain its identity, and the preservation of heritage amidst technological advancements and modern influences. The seminar concluded with Haider Fakher receiving a certificate of appreciation for his contributions to art and culture.
