Baghdad: The judiciary is preparing to hold its first scientific conference next April. The Supreme Judicial Council is set to host this landmark event on April 15-16, 2027, under the patronage of Judge Faiq Zaidan, President of the Supreme Judicial Council. The conference, themed “The Iraqi Judiciary: Between a Century of Justice’s Legacy and the Demands of the Digital Future,” will welcome Iraqi, Arab, and international judicial, academic, and legal experts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council intends for the conference to review significant legal and judicial developments, promote scientific research in the judicial sector, and address the challenges that the justice system faces amid digital transformation and the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence technologies.

The statement highlighted that the event is expected to gather judges, researchers, academics, and experts from Iraq and various Arab and foreign countries. Additionally, representatives from international and regional organizations and legal institutions will be present, fostering an environment for exchanging expertise and sharing comparative judicial and legal experiences.

The conference aims to serve as a scientific platform for dialogue, offering a space for exchanging perspectives on the judiciary’s future. It seeks to produce recommendations that will contribute to the development of the judicial and legislative system, support the rule of law, and enhance the efficiency of the Iraqi judiciary to meet future demands.
