Baghdad:State of Law Coalition bloc leader Yasser Al-Maliki emphasized that sovereignty is a national entitlement and an achievement that Iraqis take pride in.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Maliki stated that sovereignty extends beyond completing a legal phase or the departure of foreign forces. It is a cumulative process through which Iraq transitions from being affected by external influences to having its own strategic influence.

He further explained that sovereignty should be seen as a renewed national project. This project is focused on the independence of national decision-making, driven by the pursuit of Iraq’s national interest, and aims to restore Iraq’s civilizational standing and historical significance. The goal is for Iraq to become a stabilizing force in the region rather than a battleground for conflicts.
