Iraqi Media Network Board of Trustees Stands Firm Against Political Interference


Baghdad: The Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network announced today, Thursday, its rejection of any political interference in the independent performance of the Iraqi Media Network. A statement by the Board of Trustees indicated that “the policy of the Iraqi Media Network is based on firm national principles, foremost among them supporting the Iraqi state and its constitutional institutions,” stressing its “rejection of any interference or pressure from any political entity or party that may affect the independence of the network’s performance and its professional mission.”



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added, “While we remind everyone that Iraq and its institutions are more deserving of support and attention, we call upon the head of the Iraqi Media Network and its staff to continue performing their professional duties freely and responsibly, within the legal frameworks and applicable regulations.”



The statement also commended “the efforts of the Iraqi Media Network and its staff in building a purposeful national media that reflects the aspirations of the Iraqi people and serves their best interests.”
