Baghdad: The Iraqi Meteorological Organization has announced that the country will experience thunderstorms and a drop in temperatures in the coming days, affecting various regions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the organization released a statement detailing the weather forecast for the upcoming days. It predicts generally cloudy skies for tomorrow, Saturday, with light to moderate rain showers in the central and northern regions, sometimes accompanied by thunder. The southern region may also experience light rain showers. A slight decrease in temperatures is expected in the central and northern regions, while a slight increase is anticipated in the southern region.

The forecasted maximum temperatures for Saturday across Iraqi governorates are as follows: Sulaymaniyah will see 15 degrees Celsius, Dohuk and Erbil 17, Nineveh 19, Kirkuk 20, Salah al-Din and Anbar 22, Wasit 23, Baghdad and Diyala 24, Diwaniyah, Najaf, and Basra 25, Karbala, Maysan, and Muthanna 26, and Babylon and Dhi Qar 27.

Sunday's weather is expected to be generally cloudy with moderate to heavy rain showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures remaining similar to Saturday. On Monday, the forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with light rain showers, sometimes thundery, particularly in the eastern parts of the country. Weather conditions are expected to stabilize by the evening, with a slight decrease in temperatures in the central and northern regions, while the southern region will see similar temperatures.

The statement also mentioned that Tuesday will bring clear skies with some clouds, and temperatures will be consistent with those recorded on the previous day.
