Washington: The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Sunday a decline in Iraq’s crude oil exports to the United States during the past week, compared to the previous one.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA’s weekly report stated, “U.S. crude oil imports from ten major countries averaged 5.416 million barrels per day last week, down by 772,000 barrels per day from the previous week, which averaged 6.188 million barrels per day.”

The report added that Iraq’s oil exports to the U.S. dropped to 164,000 barrels per day, down by 48,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s figure of 212,000 barrels per day.

It further noted that Canada remained the top oil exporter to the United States during the same period, followed by Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, crude oil imports from Colombia, Libya, Nigeria, and Venezuela also continued.
