Iraqi Parliament Condemns Attack on Kurdistan Prime Minister’s Office


Baghdad: The Iraqi Parliament Presidency has condemned the recent attack on the private office of Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the residence of the region’s intelligence chief. This incident has been labeled as a dangerous and unacceptable development that threatens Iraq’s sovereignty, the safety of its citizens, and the stability of its institutions.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Parliament Presidency issued a statement expressing its strong disapproval of the attack. The statement highlighted the threat posed to Iraq’s sovereignty and emphasized that the security of the Kurdistan Region is a fundamental component of Iraq’s overall security. The presidency called upon the federal government and relevant agencies to thoroughly investigate the attack and implement necessary measures to uphold national sovereignty and prevent future incidents.



Furthermore, the Council Presidency reiterated its position on the importance of keeping Iraq insulated from regional conflicts and tensions. The statement urged respect for the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, advocating for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to disputes to maintain Iraq’s security and prevent further escalation in the region.
