BAGHDAD: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed the government's dedication to supporting orphans through educational and psychological initiatives with the inauguration of three Al-Farah Model Schools in Baghdad and Maysan. These schools are part of a broader effort to inaugurate 25 specialized schools across Iraq, aimed at providing targeted care and education for orphans. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister utilized a television circuit to officially open these schools. He emphasized the government's commitment to the educational sector and acknowledged the religious and social contributions that aided in the realization of the Al-Farah Model Schools Project for Orphans. Al-Sudani highlighted the government's focus on vulnerable groups, particularly orphans who have faced adverse conditions, by stating the nation's "legal, moral, and national responsibility" towards them. The initiative is not just limited to educational infrastructure; Al-Sudani pointed out that the gov ernment plans to ensure comprehensive support. This includes ongoing construction under the Iraqi-Chinese schools project, of which 20-25 schools in the first phase are dedicated to orphans under the Al-Farah Model Schools scheme. These schools will provide essential services including cash assistance, social and psychological support, school uniforms, transportation, and meals. Moreover, the Prime Minister directed that school administrations work closely with the Social Protection Department to ensure timely disbursement of financial aid to the students. He also noted ongoing coordination with UNICEF to bolster programs for psychological support, recognizing the severe challenges faced by the orphans. Al-Sudani's statements also reflected on the broader community involvement, praising the religious and social leaders for their focus on nurturing orphaned children, which he believes reinforces the concept of social solidarity.
